My most honest statement is made through a fog of fear, hope and ennui alongside other things we are all too scared or dishonest to admit to having or talking about. The work herein is a mix, a distillation of those things, borne by the inspiration of music, movies, poems, a love gained or a love moved on. At least for me, they are points of relevance. I don’t have total control of it. They can take hold and I have no idea why or what to do with them. I used to think the images were records or maps as maps are also manufactured, subjective interpretations. I’m not sure what they are or what they mean. I try to carry on.
I used to be a more passionate artist, person. Then I became an academic and it suffocated everything that came before. Don’t do it.
